About

Welcome to my portfolio!

My name is Joseph Krejchi, and I am a Master of Science in Computer Engineering student at Iowa State University. Please visit the links above to learn more about me, my projects, and my internship experiences.

Background

I grew up in Des Moines, Iowa and began my education at Iowa State in fall 2021. I was initially drawn to the computing field after a programming unit in my freshman general engineering course, and I picked cybersecurity for my degree because of all the interesting challenges and opportunities offered. Through my Cyber Security Engineering degree, I laid a foundation not just in cybersecurity but also in computer science, embedded systems, and digital hardware design. After my junior year, I interned as a cybersecurity researcher at Idaho National Laboratory and enjoyed it greatly. My experience there inspired me to pursue both my master’s degree and an internship with the National Laboratory of the Rockies after my senior year.

For my graduate education, I am exploring my passion for digital logic and embedded systems. Some of my key courses taken include embedded systems design, hardware design for machine learning, computer systems architecture, and real-time systems. I am also researching FPGA side channels for my thesis, which has been an awesome way to combine my background in cybersecurity and interest in logic design.

Current plans

I will finish my M.S. degree this August with the completion of my thesis. Following my graduation, I will pursue a career in embedded systems, digital architecture, or hardware security.
